Recipe #1
1 teaspoon beeswax pastilles
1 teaspoon shea butter or cocoa butter
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1/8 teaspoon of beet root powder or 1 drop of natural food coloring with no chemical additive. NOTE: add these very slowly as a little goes a long way!
Melt the beeswax, shea butter/cocoa butter and coconut oil in a glass jar without a lid in a small pot of simmering (not boiling) water. It should melt quickly because so little of each ingredient is used.
When melted, remove from heat and add any optional ingredients like color or scent. To get a redish hue, use a tiny pinch o of bet root powder (1/8 tsp or less), 1/4 cocoa powder, 1/8 tsp bentonite clay, 1/8 tsp cinnamon and a drop of peppermint essential oil (for scent)
Once all ingredients are mixed well but still liquid, use a dropper to pour into the lip chap container. I used the glass dropper from an old tincture bottle. Fill just below the top as it will expand slightly as it cools. Leave to cool for at least hald an hour. Store in a cool place (under 80 degrees) or it will soften.
Scaled down: 1/4 teaspoon beeswax pastilles
1/4 teaspoon cocoa butter/shea butter
1/4 teaspoon coconut oil
Recipe #2
1 teaspoon beeswax or beeswax beads
1 teaspoon shea butter, mango butter, almond butter, or avocado butter
1 teaspoon almond oil, extra virgin olive oil, or jojoba oil
Cinnamon and turmeric for color
Melt the base ingredients together. Put the lipstick base ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl. Place it in the microwave and heat in 30-second increments until melted. Stir ingredients.
Mix in the color. Add 1/8-1/4 teaspoon of the natural powder you want to use. Stir the powder into the base mixture, and continue adding more until satisfied. Pour the mixture into containers. You can use an old lipstick or chap stick tube, small cosmetic pots, or any container with a lid. Let the lipstick harden at room temperature or in the refrigerator before you use it.

Recipe #3
Get a box of crayons. Choose a crayon brand that is known to make crayons that are safe to ingest in small quantities. Since kids often put crayons in their mouths, many brands are tested to ensure they aren't toxic. Choose a box of crayons that is labeled as such.
Melt the crayon in a double boiler, if you heat the crayon without a double boiler it will burn. Unwrap the paper label and discard it. Place the crayon in the top section of the double boiler and heat it over medium heat until it has melted. You can make your own double boiler with 2 sauce pans, a large one and a smaller one. Place a few inches of water in the large saucepan and set the smaller pan inside, so that it's floating in the water. Put the crayon in the smaller saucepan, then place the contraption over medium heat and let the crayon melt.
You may want to use an old pan to melt the crayon since it can be difficult to clean off. Stir in some oil, you can use olive, almond, jojoba, or coconut oil. Stir it in with the melted wax until the ingredients are completely combined.
Add fragrance. A few drops of essential oil help mask the smell of the crayon. Try rose, peppermint, lavender, or another type of essential oil. Pour the mixture into containers. You can use an old lipstick or chap stick tube, small cosmetic pots, or any container with a lid. Let harden in room temperature.
