Prompt: Write about a specific feeling without using the word.
Response: I was standing there eagerly waiting for a response. I slowly, then all of a sudden started to regret everything I'd done, including asking her. The words "No" slithered to my ears from her cold bitter mouth. My heart drooped into my stomach. My whole body had the sudden urge to lie down with my knees tucked into my chest. All the ideas and plans I hoped for that night erased from my mind like the flash on a camera, yet they still lingered like when you can't see after you take a picture. We stood there. I tried to find her eyes but they were avoiding mine. The words "Sorry, I'm going with friends." poured out of her mouth like a bad actor reciting lines.
Prompt: What is something about you today, that would make your 8 year old self cry if they found out?
Response: Growing from a young girl into a teenager changes a lot of things. Childhood represents everything innocent and as you get older, you gradually loose that innocence. Overall today, I like who I am. However, there are things that would make my 8 year old self cry. When I was younger I never said anything bad about anyone. I only saw the good in people. I wish that was still true today. Living in this current society, girls are prone to disliking one another. I speak only for myself, but maybe some others can relate, I have said some pretty bad things about other people. Drama, back stabbing, rumors and lies. I like to think I am only victims of these things but the reality is, I'm definitely not. If my 8 year old self heard what I've said, I'd start balling.
Prompt: Write about something that people don't understand about you, they don't get.
Response: I love doughnuts. I love all doughnuts, but especially old fashioned glazed. What people don't understand is, when I have an old fashioned glazed doughnut, I prefer to pair it with a Dr Pepper. Not like a fresh, just opened bottle but a few days old and slightly warm. Most people drink coffee or milk but not me. I like my doughnut glazed and my Dr Pepper flat. It's strange, I know but that's just how I like it.
